Mounts appear to be for P'14 as well, although judging by the marks on the tube they've wandered about a bit over the years.......or is that the point you were making about the ring moving? If that is the scope in question, could it have been a No3 Mk1* (T) your pal was shooting, rather than a No1 Mk3* (H) T ?
