M95M Yugoslavian conversion
There is a M95M leaning by the wood stove at my side.
Is there anyone present who cares to see it or has one as well?

I'd like to see closeups of the areas of conversion.

The double sling rings are correct. During refurbishment after WWI a lot of the bottom rings were removed and the hole filled in with wood.
I wouldn't think it too hard to get a new stock for it.

Thanks for the photos. The barrel appears to be 'stepped' like a Mauser. Did they use Mauser barrels for the conversion? Tom

My reading is that 23.9" (?) Yugo
M1924 barrels with sights were used in the 95m conversions. Someone may have replaced the trigger guard assembly, which is why the hole
is not closed up. Is it serialed to the receiver?

The most difficult part to find to get it working properly again is the proper magazine for a M95M with the proper 'clip' (as I understand it there is a clip welded into the magazine to retain the 8mm Mauser as the original Steyr M95 Mannlicher clips will not work with the rimless round and it also allows the rifle to work with the 8mm Mauser stripper clips). Without that clip you are unable to use the rifle unless you single load rounds UNDER the extractor (do not ever stick a round in the chamber and close the bolt on it with a Steyr M95 or you will break the extractor, actually as a good rule don't do that for any rifle that is designed to be magazine fed).
Hope this helps.

You are correct in everything you have said above. I've only fired my M95M once and got some blowback.
I wear shooting glasses so no injury. But once was enough for me. The recoil was pretty stout.
