Non- refurbished Mosin ?
Good day , am looking for input on a Mosin M91/30 I picked up. I'm not an expert but need your opinions on the level of originality on this rifle or if it has been refurbed. It doesn't seem to display the usual indicators as other rifles ; thick shellac , "square " stampings on wood or metal. Also cyrillic letters are present on the bolt ahead of the serial number. It also has many small cartouches on the stock. The finish on the stock is peeling badly all over and it is so thin that it makes me wonder if that is the original finish. Not the usual 1/16 th of an inch thick shellac that covers most of these rifles !!!
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Regards , Kirby.

It's a refurb, cartouches or not. From your pictures it looks to me to be a run of the mill shellacked stock. If your going to shoot it, it will just keep flaking off might as well remove it and oil the stock. My 2cs...
