Hole in 1903 Extractor???
I have a spare extractor recently acquired that has a hole drilled through right behind the front claw. It appears to line up with the gas escape hole on the right side of the receiver front ring (opposite side from the Hatcher hole) Were these an afterthought, added during arsnal rebuild, or was there a specific serial number and/or manufacturer that these appeared on? Thanks for any info you might have. John
p.s. I checked ViShooter's page, but it seems the extractors were not included in research data.

Nearly all M1903 extractors, up to those made in WWII have the the gas escape hole.
