Colt slide on a UMC frame value?
The pictured M1911 has a Remington UMC frame and a Colt slide and barrel. The barrel is marked COLT 45 AUTO and a "P". The serial number is "NO18xxx". It appears to be an arsenal rebuild but does not have an arsenal mark. On the left frame there is an eagle head on the trigger guard bow and one just above the mag release with both having E28. The REM UMC inspector stamp is EEC. It has UNITED STATES PROPERTY. On the frame's right side it has the serial number and a 1 on the trigger guard bow. It has an E down near the loop by the mag well. The grips are plastic and it has been parkerized. Considering the UMC frame but no arsenal mark what's this one worth?
Thanks,
Larry

Grips
Sorry there are wooden grips on. It came with the Bakelite plastic ones but that's not shown.

I can't help with the value, but if you are interested in selling it, I may be interested in buying it.

I saw one locally at a shop yesterday, a Ithica slide on a UMC frame, it was around $800, don't remember exactly. I would think around there. Your's is in much better condition.

Don't feel bad at all (Ivan?). We know that you are new here, so you wouldn't know some of the personal protocol between members. Just stick a round for a little while and you'll learn things quickly.
Best regards,

PS - I LOVE your 1911!

It's Larry. My logon is l(L)vanbrunt. Thanks for the welcome and showing me the protocol. Anybody want to put an estimate of value out there?

I purchased a Remington UMC frame mated to an early Colt slide combo a few years ago for $700. The frame is 95% deep blued. The slide is markled Model of 1911 US Army and parkerized. They don't match at all but function perfectly. The pistol looks like two matching pistols swapped slide assemblies at some point. Oh well, I wish I had the other half of either the frame or the slide.
