Thanks for the praise. I've been in similar conditions and have learned to do a good job. Key is reducing your megapixel count - you don't need much - and use the macro setting. Cropping can enlarge the picture. Auto correct sometimes helps with contrast. I have a ho-hum Nikon 16 megapixel camera set to about 3.5 for the shots, and use a prop to keep my hands steady.
