Surely Vince, with the C1 casing parts being fabricated and having seen your fabrication skills, there's no need to faff around with hybrid parts. You could just fabricate as per original. Likewise any machined parts. You might not have an original to measure up from but you can get the gist of it by deduction. And they're all generally the small bits so machining wouldn't(?) be a problem either

I'm also guessing you're doing up your groundwork and are going to be able to handle one when you get to the museum. They have one on display, but I'll bet there's at least several in the storage. Their excess "Stuff" is staggering...

You’re absolutely right, Peter. I was fixing a friend’s Uzi and came across the sight in a parts bin. It was a bad idea. I am itching to build this…

I have a possible line on the sight and maybe a few other bits.

Didn't hear about that , but one of the early stealth fighters ran short of fuel and landed here....took hours to find the fuel cap....

Something to be aware of, the Canadian icon

windage adjustable rear sight base is wider that the UK icon

L2A3 version, so the bolt handle release hole is not centred in the charging handle slot, it sits below centre.

Looking at the picture in Peter's book now. It looks like the slot extends back past the opening for the handle. Do you know why? I am sure there must be a reason.
