My interests are confined to target shooting at traditional bull's eye targets. Doing this with military surplus rifles can be lots of fun. I have some experience with the Canadian
FN C1 and C2 rifles, as well as the Lee-Enfield C No.7, and No.4 rifles. I do a fair amount of air pistol shooting, and hope to do more 50 meter ISSF shooting. I've always been intrigued with the range and accuracy of the old surplus rifles (Mosin-Nagant, Lee-Enfield, Enfield, Mauser, Springfield, etc.) once they've been accurized. I hope to gain some new insight from this web site.

Greetings from eastern Australia
HI everybody, I’m new to the forum. My history in Australia
has shooting since I was ten (I’m 68 now). I started with a little .22 Mauser my dad brought back from Burma after the war, and graduated to .32 and .44 Winchester Low Walls. I have developed over the years an interest in rebuilding, loading for and shooting black-powder, single-shot firearms, so I regularly shoot Sniders and Pattern 53 and 58 Enfields, a 12.17 Carl Gustaf roller gets its regular exercise as does a #1Mk1 1904 Enfield .303. I have a variety of Winchester 92s and Low Walls in .25,32 and .44, and a couple of Savage 23s which also get their turn. I hunt (pigs, goats and deer with a 94 Winchester in 44-40).

Hi, I am from Philly and joined the forum today. I wanted to introduce myself and let you know I know virtually nothing about this rifle. I purchased a 1903A3 Remington made rifle and I have been to the range with it twice. My prior experience has been with Mosin Nagants and I am astounded by the difference. This Springfield is far more accurate than them and is clearly a better made rifle. My biggest questions are about ammunition. I am strictly a range shooter and all my Mosins are in firing condition. The ammo for them is about 23c a round. I was wondering about 30.06 lacquer coated steel case ammo Wolf makes. Will it be ok? I never used Wolf ammo in my Mosins, just copperwash military surplus. i was kind of surprised how little 30.06 military surplus is out there and I assumed it was for M1s. Is it interchangeable? Any help is most appreciated. Thanks.

Greetings,
I am relatively new to Milsup collecting. I started with Lee Enfield's about about 3 years ago and now have restored 5. I am working on a couple of FN 49's now.

Greetings all from the S.F. Bay Area:
I just joined the group to research a few rifles. I am a lifetime shooter that in the past few years has started to appreciate old military weapons. My favorite being my 1898 Krag
. I recently aquired an IBM carbine, and an "almost free" Arisaka
for which I will be soliciting information and opinions soon.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
