Enfield Enforcer
Looks like I'm back in the Enfield Encorcer business. Does anyone know the correct model Harris bipod for an Enforcer?

The "skinny" leg version is/was the correct one, but I have seen later ones that had the 'standard' leg version and were alleged to be original.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

The bipods were not factory fitted but purchased by the individual Police Forces and could be any type/model available at the time of purchase. As the rifles were still in service into the '90s it could be any model/type available upto that time.

The bipod was a 'factory fitted' option as was the PH5E4 sight and the Pecar Telescopic sights. Police forces who could not 'get the package' within their budgets would order their Enforcer without 'accessories' and buy locally when the budget allowed.
Many were supplied with Harris Bipod, PH5E4 and Pecar sights as a 'package'.

Ok. I checked ebay and there are apparently more Harris bipod variations than shoes in the wife's closet. And just like the shoes, they all look alike to me.
I seem to remember that on my former Enforcer the bipod attached to the front barrel band in lieu of the swivel. So if your of you gents who have an Enforcer with bipod could share with me the bipod model I'd be appreciative.

Alan you are correct it was a factory option - my mistake - it would be interesting to know how many were ordered with them. I remember the hayday when Enforcers were available in quantity - they were direct from the Police and had not been messed about with by new owners and most were sold on as target rifles, at that time they were just a 7.62 rifle!!. Of the the couple of dozen I saw and the ones that went through my hands I only came across one with skinny leg bipod and couple with later model bipods the rest were without. Also many did not have their Pecar scopes and some were less the PH sights also. The one I kept and still have has a later model bipod, Pecar scope, PH sights original laminated Police insctuction card and commercial transit case numbered to the rifle, it was direct from the Police and I was its first and only civilian owner.

It is the "Ultra light 1A", vintage skinny leg style. The later version is the "Utra Light 1A2", current sytle fat legs.
