    The engineer in me says that when you compress a spring, even a tired spring to the same load, every time, as you do with a rifle bolt, then it will exert the same released force each time. After all, a spring is simply a mechanical means of storing energy isn't it? A bit like an elastic band! So if it fires some caps and not others or is inconsistent, I suggest something else. After all, we now KNOW the loading on the tip of the striker will be constant

    Nope....... I suggest different strength primers
