Hi Peter,
My comment is purely in response to the information you provided, with some authority I might add. I've now responded having visited AI and dealt directly with the two design engineers of the L96 and who oversaw the solution to the catastrophic problem. I would just like to point out to anyone with an L96 that bolt locking ring, crack testing and a potential bolt replacement is not necessary and simply never happened back in the day. The problem was rectified by quite simply removing the existing shroud and pin replacing with the new one, thirty seconds, problem solved. I'm just saying the source from which you concluded your answer is wrong. The guys at AI seemed pretty clued up.
