    All I can add is that if the standard issued ELEY doesn't group worth a damn (your words) in your rifle then that indicates a problem with the rifle simply because the manufacturers zeroing and accuracy standard tests are carried out using that ammo.

    Back to the finer adjustment and I see what you mean and you have a valid point. But in the real world, to move the cursor slide from , say 25 to 100 is exactly the same vertical distance on the scale, regardless of the amount of turns/clicks, surely. In point of fact, it takes 8 clicks to move the slide from 25 to 100 using a standard No8 sight BUT if you put a No5 adjusting screw and nut into a No8 sight it takes 18 clicks to cover the same distance.
