    Talking M28 naked, (pics)

While strip cleaning my M28 I figured I'd play with the camera a bit. I have another on coming in a short while for the 28/30, I couldn't get a bore shot no matter what I did, too shinny. Please feel free to comment be it good or bad, I numb, I can take it!-SDH

The stock looks maybe refinished? Does it still have the "SY" in an oval cartouche in the bolt-side finger groove?

    Nice rifle.

Hey Claven, The stock has a very heavy coat of butchers wax on it, When I picked it up it was very dry, so I used the famous butchers wax. It will dissipate in 6 months or so. Yep Still has the cartouche in the FG but quite faint. I got it for a great price considering the fellow said the bore was shot. I slugged it with annealed brass and a pile of some weird looking junk came out. I've never seen it before, almost like over dried shellac, but, the bore is fine and Son #1 put up 2 M.O.A. without breaking a sweat (youth, hmm). I'm still getting used to the color of the wood, but, its growing on me. I just can't seem to shake this nasty case of Mosinitius. Every time I think its going away, some thing new pops up and I just get it right back again. I think its chronic! V.B.R.-Steve
