The V is a victory pin, civilian, and the stick pin is German
WW2 veteran with an Iron Cross and wound badge. The black wound badge is just that, for one or two wounds or frostbite. Both of those are WW2. Nice lighter, Aussie hatbadge or collar on it, can't tell by the pic what size it is.

thanks Jim lighter is 1 inch by 1 inch thought it might be a hand made lighter sorta like trench art. still going thru all the goodies in the box. My boy took the 2 case knifes they are worn but none the less case,

Nice, that would be the little paratrooper switchblade that went into the collar pocket on their M42 jump jacket...there's guys here that collect those by themselves, there's so many variants...like the German
equivalent.
I think your lighter bears the collar badge. There's a few Aussies here that may come up on this as it's a nice little piece. Must be a US item though, it has a US patent number and it's a Premo lighter...someone will know.
