Here's a color shot of my dad (far right). It was taken in the Ardenne and was captioned as being men from the 1st Army. He was 3rd Army, medic, but said he was detached a lot of the time. I think the patch on the shoulder indicates 3rd Army. Anyway, this pic was taken by "Time and Life" and was originally black and white. I never saw it in color until I happened across it on another website in an article talking about the winter war.... Dad said he didn't think he would ever warm up - got caught riding in a convoy in his sleeping bag when it got straffed - said he learned a big lessen - wound up rolling out of the jeep and rolling into the ditch. A lot of those old pics and film are being converted to color and their doing a great job.
