If you haven't discovered the most remarkable pilot of all the Spitfire squadrons, take a look at Douglas Bader, or, better yet, get an old copy of "Reach for the Sky" by Paul Brickhill, which is a very exciting story about this remarkable pilot.
My USAF buddy next door just gave me two DVDs: "Mosquito Squadron" starring David McCallum, and Mosquito "Squadron 633" starring Cliff Robertson. My buddy knows my affection for Mosquito bombers -- the fast attack plane constructed of wood by piano and furniture makers called into action because there was such a shortage of aluminum for aircraft construction. Armed to the teeth and fired up by twin Rolls Royce Merlin engines (ala Spitfire), these planes were capable of +450 mph. Can't wait to watch the movies.
