The inches per yards make me think this is gun related, is anyone able to tell me what this is and if it has any value?
Thanks guys.
The tool is for drifting the front blade of a rifle sight, to adjust the zero for windage. I don't know what type of rifle it was designed for though

I am originally from England
, but now live in the USA
. I was in the ACF near Carlisle when I was growing up in the mid 1980s. We used Lee Enfield no4 rifles and Brens and occasionally got to shoot L1A1s when we were visiting military bases. This got me interested in British firearms.
I own a No4 Mark1, a No5, a Historic Arms L4 Bren and a No2 Mark1** revolver

30-40 krag top wood hand guard removal
evening all my name is bill in I am interested in older guns and rifles. while I an in here I will ask my first question. a while back I came across a 30-40 krag mfg. in 1900. its looks like nice old rifle. most of it I have it apart and cleaned .except the top wood hand guard.the rear screw will not lossen up.i am wondering if I can just gently push the hand guard over the top an through the wood hole ? what I have so far is put long pieces of shim stock between the barrel and steel clamp pieces and also some shim stock between rear sight and wood hole, then gently tap on the long pieces of shim stock ? I have so far been able to move the stock down about 1/8 or so but I stopped at that point for now !!, but it seems like it may work ??? hoping I can get some advice if this may work ? or another way to get the screw out ? possibly take screw driver and grind down to what I need thanks for any and all help you can give me bill p.s. not good at spelling

Hello
Just a quick posting to introduce myself. I am a new collector of Russian
and other milsurps. Started with one Mosin and as you have heard this story before, one has quickly grown to many and spread out from there. SKS's SVT's and even a nice K31
round out my little collection. Still cheaper I figure than boating. Look forward to participating in the forums etc. Thanks

Hello to all of you.
Hello, My name is Dave my user name backwards. I am a tool and die maker 40yrs from the St Louis area. I think I am going to enjoy being a member of milsurps, I haven't had a chance to do anything on here yet but it appears to be a well thought out site and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing your knowledge and hopefully I can be a benefit to the community. As mentioned above I have 40 years of experience in the machine trades and might be of value making, modifying and repairing your broken weapons etc.
Thanks, evad
