Wooden Training Rifle- Need Info

Hello guys,

I need some help finding info in regards to the simple wooden training rifles the army ised during WWII. They appear to be based off of a 1903 and this type of training rifle has no added metal, it is 100% wood. It also has added length to simulate and attached bayonet.

Can anyone help me with getting pictures and specs for these so I can make the most accurate replica possible?

The reason I need the info is because I am currently helping a friend out who is putting on a WWII basic training weekend event. He wants to have a bayonet course, but the reality that not everyone has a rifle and bayonet and not everyone with a rifle and bayonet wants to bet them up on the training course is troubling.

So, I've decided to take on the task of recreating about 12-16 of the simple wooden training rifles with simulated attached bayonet for the trainees to use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link. AA was the one place I forgot to search.

Anyway, what I mostly want is dimensions. I did email the seller, but if any of you guys could help with the specs I'd greatly appreciate it.

The one shown in the auction and Brophy is World War One, not World War Two. I have a small collection of the trainers, and don't know of any solid wood version from WW2. Both the Army and Navy bought trainers from Parris-Dunn, but they had metal parts and used a plastic bayonet.

when I was younger, my grandfather gave me one of those parris dun rifles,a s a birthday girft, that I found out later he took from hte NG base he was assigned to at the time. I know a few years playing with it, leaving it outside ect, was eventually reduced to rusted junk and ended up in trash.... kicking myself now lol

Here is a pic of a Parris Dunn and an unknown wooden O3 it has a metal clip for some type of Bayo but I don't know what it is. Truman

The unknown on top is an In-Vu Model 100 - pretty scarce but I don't think there is a whole lot of collector interest in these.
