    Railsplitters

The Missouri Military Academy has a student club called The Railsplitters Living History Company that re-enacts the 84th Division in WWII. In 2010 the GCAicon Grant Committee awarded them funding to purchase more M1icon Rifles so that more students could carry them in the effort. We wrote them up in the Fall 2010 Journal.

    Railsplitter (2)

The Railsplitters recreate the famous pose from Band of Brothers. They are all high school age boys.

Which when you think about it isn't too far off of the actual age of the soldiers who fought in WWII.

    Grants

The GCAicon Grant Committee awards money for projects that further the mission of the Association, part of which is "To preserve and publicize the history of the M1icon Rifle and its inventor John Garand." We saw the MMA grant request as doing just that for a lot of teenage boys, so made the award. If you have something that might qualify, go to the web site and download an application.
