Right on Beerhunter. General George Patton carried a 1903 Colt .32 ACP in his shoulder holster -- he was a crack shot and knew the pistol was good enough to protect him.* He still liked his SA Colt 45s for show. A 1903 can fire eight .32 hollow points in just a few seconds. wouldn't want to try to stop one bullet, never mind eight; and with very little recoil, shots have a high likelihood of being on target. Reliability and accuracy counts. And .32 caliber was good enough for most police officers until the 1940s.

Note: In the 1970 movie, Patton uses his .32 ACP to try to bring down a Messerschmitt -- but fails to achieve his goal.

Let's not forget the number of people who have been killed by .22RF, and not just LR. Shorts will do the job too. I'm not saying I would want to use one to protect myself against a maniac high on crack and meth, but a shot in the right place from just about anything can put someone down.

A couple of things - firstly, it's not "new" - text message jargon, netspeak and its descendants have been around for more than 20 years. Secondly, WTF does not mean "Why The Face?"; it means "What the F----?"
Besides the others Steve H mentioned, A few examples you're likely to encounter in non-computer gaming contexts include AFAIK (As Far As I Know), IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), ICYMI (In Case You Missed It), FFS (For F--'s Sake) and ROFL (Rolling On The Floor Laughing).

That was actually a little joke. Us rural folk keep up with all the latest things; bell bottom pants, pet rocks, you name it!
