What is the significance of the H on the bridge in back of the slide well?
I have an unmodified type 1 stock without and sling well stamps or stampings on the right side or pistol grip of the stock, it also has the H in the same position. Possibly Hillerich and Bradsby [makers of carbine stocks and Louisville slugger bats]? It also has a diagonal checkered buttplate with the imprint of the buttplate pressed into the wood and a type-2 Inland recoil plate. I have been trying to find out who made it and for whom, so far, no luck.

lambo, that sounds like an Underwood stock.

Could be Inland. They also used a diamond pattern butt plate. Check the number of diamonds per inch. Underwood was 13 and Inland was 11.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
