Best of both worlds in your case, don't know what the price for a Nagant is over there but I,m guessing cheap, I wouldn't buy one just to do this though .....
I suspect the single stack magazine of the Ross MkIII would be the most likely to work reliably with 7.62x54R, but I've never actually tried!

as i have approx - 3000 rounds of 54r sittign in spam cans. then again i have 5000 rounds of 303 sittign too.
