19-year old from Montville, NJ on Fox Hill. Hector says the painting is inaccurate, he didn't have his boots on, they were left in the OP when he fell back to the perimeter, and he didn't stand on top of the berm, he ducked down behind it and only popped up to shoot. At left is his buddy Kenny Bensen who was temporarily blinded by a grenade but continued to load M1s from two dead Marines and pass them to Hector. Hector fired all night and the next morning Marines from the other side of the perimeter tried to count the bodies in front of his position but lost count at well over 200. Unfortunately, at daybreak he crawled out to the OP to retrieve his boots and was badly wounded by a sniper, but miraculously survived and was evacuated. The photo is Hector having coffee on my patio.Attachment 66395Attachment 66394
