1891 Front Sight Base Loose
Hi guys. I bought a Argentine
sporter a yr ago for $100. I had a hard time seeing the front sight so I decided to put a little tape on the fs tip for a upcoming range session. When I did so I found that I can move the front sight a mm side to side. The blade itself is solid in the dovetail but the base ring can move slightly or rotate. I want to have my gunsmith repair it down the road. Am I correct that when the blade is removed from the dovetail the base has a hole with solder and a screw to hold it secured to the barrel? I want to be able to give the gunsmith as much info before I drop it off to him for repair. Any info or advice I could relay to him would be appreciated. Heres a pic of the rifle. Thanks, Nacho.Attachment 66431
