    Cinders,
Thought I would give you a challenge for the weekend, you might have to take the wrapper off now. It probably took a Sherman with an 88 fitted to dtop it in its tracks. Mind you on second thoughts wouldn't that have had to be a rear engine shot to stop it??

It was probably abandoned after it ran out of gas. Then they fuelled it and tested it out. Everyone would have wanted a clipboard of info on that one.

    Tiger tank ~ No. 712

712 ~ fought in North Africa and was one of the last ones to capitulate along with Tiger 131. Tiger 712 was shipped to the USAicon where it was displayed at the Aberdeen proving grounds for a long time it now resides (preserved so I gather under cover display) permanently in Germanyicon.
Souce = Tiger 1 on the Western Front Jean Restayn Pages = 32,33

Don't worry Gil I have been sorely tempted to read it but some books I will have to buy doubles of to read then re-sell the read copy, this set pictured I will eventually break out of the plastic and read
