    Although the designers of this rifle had spec'ed a 1000 yard capability one USMC sniper interviewed by Peter Senich stated the average shot was taken at about 400 yards.

    Again it's one persons recollection/experience which is likely to vary depending on the terrain and other conditions.

    The scope and mounts were basically designed for the target range. Most snipers would likely dial in a basic setting and then teach themselves to hold off to compensate for changes in wind or range.
