Folks don't realize the hours involved to restore/maintain piece's of history as such. Not mention cost of material and parts chasing.

The Bird Dog I flew was an Air Force plane turned over to the Civil Air Patrol for its use in about 1970 after the 0-2 Skymasters took over. It was a lot easier to feed and fly than the T28 Trojan we had before that. Granted, it was also less glamorous, but it was much more suited for the search and rescue roll of the CAP, including better visibility.
