Finally added an Arisaka to the collection!
My main focus is American WWII arms, but always had an itch for an Arisaka. When CNCMAN listed one for sale with an eye catching stock, i couldn't help but haggle on the price and hope for the best. Lucky me, a week later she was in my safe. Just got around to taking some pictures! She's a 4th series Nagoya, all matching including the dust cover, and all the screws staked. Came with all the goodies: monopod, aircraft sight, and sling. Just waiting on a bayonet and muzzle cover. Only down side is the grounded chrysanthemum, but I'm a collector not a florist so it didn't bother me too much
On a side note, why are original ammo pouches so hard to find??
Enough talk, here she is! Thanks for looking!

I don't think ammo pouches are all that hard to find but then again I have 8 of them. They used to be all over the place both front and rear pouches in leather, rubber coated canvas, and rubberized canvas but it seems as though they have dried up! I also have a box ful of original muzzle covers but they too have dried up!!! Nice rifle by the way!!!

Very nice.
My thoughts as well. And who knows, maybe one day I'll come across one with a mum. But until then, I'm more than happy. Thank you!

The stock was the deal maker for me. Just too... Is pretty acceptable for a warhorse?
Thank you!

Nice Type 99! Prefer them to Type 38s anymore. Especially with 150gr projectiles. Have yet to find one that likes the 174gr bullets as well. Fortunately, they are usually pretty close to zero at 100yds using the battle sight.

Just saw this thread. Next month I'll be hand loading for my Kokura arsenal T-99, serial number 52156, which puts it about in the middle of Series 22, approximately mid 1943.
It appears to be in outstanding mechanical condition with beautiful bore. I will have a local gunsmith double check it obviously. JMOORE indicated his T-99's preference for the 150 grain bullet.
I have seen load data using both .311 and .312 sized bullets. Hodgdon data uses .311 bullets.
Is there a preference for one of these size bullets over the other?
Thanks

Thanks for all the comments guys. To those talking bullet gr's, I actually haven't shot this rifle, and don't know if I will, because if something breaks, matching goes out the window. I'd like to pick up a shooter grade, because I'm dying to shoot a type 99. Those peep sights are amazing!
