5/46 Faz. Stamped FMP on the butt socket. A veteran of the Emergency, I think.
I believe that "FMP" stands for Federated states of Malaya Police.

FMP = Federation of Malaya Police. Same meat, different gravy. Unless our weapons were heavily greased under the woodwork they deteriorated very badly, very quickly. The jungle and especially the areas of the mangrove swamps was very unkind and unforgiving. Nice to see an Armourers patch on the butt

Yes, a hot and humid environment wreaked havoc on guns. A telltale sign is the blackened leeching of corrosion/oils/mold into the wood fibers where the stock parts and steel parts abut. Many of my Vietnam bringbacks exhibit this characteristic, as well.
