    CMP Certificate

If you bought a M1icon Carbine with a CMPicon Certificate and misplaced it can you get another one or only the original buyer can ? I remember when I bought it was just the Carbine that matter to me even though the Seller mentioned a few times it's a CMP Carbine and has a Certificate. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do anything to the re sale value.

Many consider it an advantage to have the CMPicon certificate. Hope you can find it or get it replaced. - Bob

You can send $25.00 per rifle to CMPicon for them to research it by serial, but they state that there are no guarantees that they will find it. Address is as follows:

    CMP
    (Attn: Serial Number Research)
    1401 Commerce Blvd.
    Anniston, AL 36207

Here's where I would take that question.... Go directly to the source and ask online... You'll find they're friendly folks mostly and willing to help...

    CMP Forums

Once you're there and signed up the board you want is titled "Ask CMP". Hope this helps (now if they'd just bring carbines back into their two stores....).

Post 4. Sadly you are going to have to pay the $25 to get the letter stating CMPicon sold it (assuming the records exist). They will not reissue the cert.

In 2010, I bought a Carbine I thought might have been from the CMPicon, but had no documentation. I "googled" the s/n and found a link to a CMP "Dutch" Auction from 2008 where several Carbines (less wood) all went for the same price which was about $1100. The Carbines were all pictured and the s/n's were listed. I downloaded the auction pages as files on my computer. If necessary, I can prove the Carbine came from the CMP, but don't really have the certificate. I thought I was pretty fortunate to find anything, but got lucky. I tried to find that auction a year or so ago, and it was no longer on CMP's site. - Bob

I just received a reply from CMPicon. I know it's somewhere here. I'll give it a rest for a bit and it should Pop up. I know it's only 25.00 but, since I'm not the original purchaser I highly doubt that I will receive one due to the privacy of the person who did purchase it.

We will perform the research. Research often involves going through boxes of old records. Our files are only complete from 1996 to the present. We do have some earlier files, but know they are incomplete. We require a letter request with payment and we will respond by letter stating if we found anything, and if so – when we sold it and what model it was we actually sold. We will not identify original purchaser. Allow 2-3 weeks per serial number.

We regret not being able to perform this service for free. We receive dozens of requests each week and it can take up to one hour just to find that we do not have any record of a serial number being researched. Charge is $25.00 per serial number, prepaid, whether we find anything or not.

If interested, send letter to CMP, ATTN: Serial Number Research, 1401 Commerce Blvd., Anniston, AL 36207.

When I was tearing up the place again last night my wife asked me what I've been looking for. My wife had found it under some papers on the table awhile back and put it away and forgot to tell me about it. She does know I have a few M1icon Carbines and I should of asked her about it. Now I have the CMPicon Book and the Certificate and the Detail sheet it came with the NPM. Now when I sell the Carbine the buyer should be Happy and get at least 50.00 more J/K. I thought I had it sold to friend here and said I would throw it in with the NPM Carbine. I wouldn't have asked more for fit. I also finally found a Original Flip Sight for it. I think the one it has is possibly not Original. Finally, I have the Original parts that weren't on it for the Year and S/N.
