Navy--- Nice luger! One common mistake when re-assembling a Luger is to not hook the coupling link (#11) under the recoil lever (#29). (numbers refer to Numrich's exploded view drawing part numbers--go to their webste). . You can check to see if this is the issue by pulling up on the toggle and letting it go. It should snap back down and lock the breech under the spring tension. If you don't feel the spring, it is not connected. Check this out and I can explain how to fix it quite easily if that's the problem . Also you can probably find the instructions for dis-assembly/assembly online. It is really quite simple and requires no tools. Oh, also before doing anything remove the magazine and make sure it is unloaded. Please don't refinish this historical piece. It is fantastic as is.
