M1 Carbine Stock- Longitudinal Lamination??

About 2/3 down on the buttstock there is a glued joint. All the Japanese stocks had it.

I am familiar with the Arisaka and a lot of the Finnish M 39's had the buttstock repair--This is nothing like that type of repair but thank you for the come back !!
