lee Enfield mk1 no4 please help identify
Hi guys, ive been trying to find out more info on my Lee Enfield, it has markings on it that say its been FTR'd but it isnt a 1/3 but as per the photos attached its a bit odd. any help would be great!

Looks like a bog standard No4 Mk1* that has been FTR to standard specs not upgraded to 1/3. Still has its original barrel.

FTR conversions to Mk1/2 and Mk1/3 only appear to have started in 1948 or 1949. Prior to this, many thousands of rifles were simply FTR'd to their original spec.

Agree 100%. No.4 Mk.2's didn't make their debut until April of 1949 so there wouldn't be any Mk. 1/2's or 1/3's before then. Which raises a curiosity that I will make another thread for in the interest of not hijacking this one.

awesome thanks Guys! yep ive used it a fair bit. love shooting it and its accurate too.
