Yep, it's a CMP
purchase from the Greek military. I think the Greeks dip blued them when they went through workshops. It gives the metal an almost black finish.

I do plan on writing the CMP
to see if they did indeed sell this one, just haven't managed to do it yet. What did the CMP sell them for $$ wise?

I think around 575 when avail.. they will charge 25 for a trace on it. If you paid between 700-800.you did well. They are running around that now.

I scored this one well under that price range, and actually had no plans to buy it. I was at an auction chasing some K98
's. It was more of a sporting gun auction with a few milsurps tossed in and the crowd didn't seem interested. Grabbed a 1939/147 K98 the same day. I'm familiar with the CMP
research process.... might take a bit longer with their current carbine release.... seems they are a bit busy!
