Here is another that I saved from a post a few years ago.

Here is the post that went with it:

M-14 SNIPER RIFLE 1969 VIETNAM *PIC Inside*

This is a photo of my brother, PFC Frank William Humes in 1969 in the Nortern Highlands of Vietnam. He was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division's LRRP's (75th Rangers, K Company). Originally he was issued a M-16 sniper rifle upon graduating Sniper School. They then re-trained him on a M-14 sniper version seen in the attached photo. On July 8, 1969 Frank and two other Rangers were inserted behind enemy lines by Huey choppers via rope ladders. Upon insertion they immediately came under intense small arms fire, having inadvertedly been inserted near a Battalion of North Vietamiese soldiers. During the firefight my brother was mortally wounded in the head. Keeping true to the Ranger creed, my brother was not left behind and reinforcements turned the tide of the battle. In the photo Frank is seen posing with his prized M-14 sniper rifle and an enemy helmet from his first confirmed sniper kill.
