No4T Leaf Sights
I have finally bought a No4T I was looking at after a few months of deliberation. Once the rifle is in my possession I will take some pics and post them.
It was missing its leaf sight and I have managed to locate one which has had the battle-sight removed. If it's not original, it's better than me removing the battle-sight myself.
My query is about the 'rounding out' of the underside to allow the bolt's fitting and removal. How widely was this done, and could someone please post a pic showing how it was modified?
Many thanks
Donald

Just as I thought....... There's a superbly detailed engineering drawing of it in a little book about the No4T. Done on all of the rifles at my regiments and at workshops if requested.

Attachment 70814And I may add the book is a wealth of knowledge on this rifle......it is getting rather scarce now and there has been suggestions made to the authors perhaps an upgraded version be considered it is entirely in the lap of the gods of it ever occurring.......
Here's a pic of the book in question

even a reprint of the current version (and the no32 booklet), would be appreciated.

Yes, but that book isn't easy to find.....Think it is easier to lay your hands on a No4T

True, I should have said "hard to find at a price I am willing to pay
" I am needing a few bits for the rifle first before I can justify spending £100+ on a book

Donald, great news on the 4T acquisition. I've got a spare unused copy of PL's book if you're interested, fellow club member terms etc......drop me a pm.
