I see the magazines are sold out where I got my extras. I got 2 spare a while back to go with the original. My dad Bubba'd the one I have since he was the only owner. I sent mine in to be repaired (I guess the crack by the bolt release button may be normal) and had a shooter's kit put on it. I found a scope and got a repo mount, sight cover and sling for it also. I really enjoy shooting it.

disassemble things , found a little good an some bad ...................the buttpad was removed and found bubba had THINNED stock so cannot use a proper steel buttplate.
all parts of gas system were stamped by vope / east germans
the front band was slightly altered by bubba by having a spring UNDER the stock .
top wood guard seems un altered.
I will now consider getting a modern stock from Poland and will sell off the bubba stock perhaps some one with tme an skill can use it / re store it .

Note that repro K43 and G43 stocks are still offered now and then, not sure of the quality though. But it may at least give your G43 an authentic again. You will also have the possibility to refit a proper (or repro) buttstock plate.
I see these stocks quite regularly on the German
online marketplace Egun (www.egun.de)
For instance:

There is also a guy offering repro buttplates btw
