Funny thing with Castrol HTB Grease, I use it in the barrels of all my collectables, when I wipe it out, I get green brass/verdigrese stains.
So it is probably cleaning out old copper...........wonder what effect it has on the brass slippers and cones in 4WD hubs

We had a little tool in our Armourers basic tool kit. TOOL, removing, wad, stock-bolt. I'm totally bemused as to why you just didn't look down the 3/4" hole with a torch whereupon the answer would have been obvious
Ha Ha...........it always makes me laugh when I see the Military's bad English used when trying to describe a part "Carrier, Aircraft for the use of" etc. There were some purlers which slip my mind at the moment, probably now I have said this we'll need a thread solely for the answers...............any good ones out there in the old memory banks?

There was a recent thread about the commercial equivalent of XG-279 grease. Can someone resurrect it?
All gun parts and accessories are ITAR regulated for cross border shipment. Canada has a $500 licensing exemption, (not including frames, barrels and breech blocks), but the shipments still require lodging with Customs and Border Protection via the ACES/AES system before posting.

Thinking of wood and parts, not mags as I know they are a no-no for some reason. :-)

Richard,
You'll have to ask them. I don't know if they export or not.

my solution... drive the screwdriver through the leather washer (by hand; no pounding) and turn until the screwdriver seats in the slot. remove bolt. my leather washer was all dried up and wasted away, so that worked for me. this method ruins the leather washer, but i didn't really care. didn't want it in there anyway.

That's JUST what we'd do Cowboy Bill! We used to find all sorts of crap in there. Bits of rolled up cardboard, score sheets, old 4"x2" flanellette, old broken pullthroughs. Never been stuck yet!
The BIG problem was turning the stock bolt when the rifle had been in the swamps. Once the salt water had got at the bolt and virtually rust-welded it to the butt and into butt socket it was a bit of a pain. But the Armourers Brace and the BIT, brace, Armourers, stocklbolt would generally shift it!

I dealt with one that was quite severe also, simply cut the stock bolt through the small of the butt and replaced the whole sh*teree...used vise grips to remove the stub of the bolt.
