But that doesn't mean it's not the Carcano carbine bayo...

Hi
Looks like a Carcano Model 1891 Cavalry Carbine folding bayonet to me, or might be from the later 1938 carbine, they both used the same bayonet as I remember

It is a Carcano cavalry bayonet. It is not a type 38 folding bayonet, they were not the same.
The problem you will have with it is there are several variations of this bayonet and they are not compatible with the various mounts. Dimensions are going to be critical.

I should have been more specific in my previous post when I refereed to the 1938 carbine, I meant the Model 1938 Cavalry Moschetto Modello 91/38 Cavalleria.
