You guys here were a massive help on info related to some other Springfield's.
What I know about this rifle.
Springfield M1Apossibly a National Match 900 range serial number. Made in 1973 I think.
I have posted the images that were given to me. These hopefully will help provide direction on what this actually is.
I am not asking for value.
The trigger assembly was not removed for fear of disturbing what appears to be bedding compound. Trigger is certainly not stock feeling. Some pre-travel with clean break. Under 5 pounds at least. The heat shield/barrel cover was not removed either. The rear clip for this cover appears to be also bedded.
NM on the top of the barrel and at least the rear sight.
Other inscriptions were photographed. If there is other lettering on the barrel I should look for, I can ask for this additional information.
The contents of the stock were not pulled out and are as pictured. Looks like cleaning rod sections and bottle with brush/lube.
Thanking you in advance for any and all information.
