Very good to see, Spike.
Most are new to me.
I believe the last photo is a Canadian
sniper. There are others of the same bloke.
Thanks for posting!

Thank you. Very nice photo of an Enfield trial rifle set up as a sniper.

One of the most poignant sniper photos I ever saw was in a book called The Road to Rome, about the advance up the backbone of Italy
. Mostly pictures - but pictures that were well described. One showed a rifle buried nose down at the head of a roadside grave with helmet and ID tags attached to the butt. Obviously a hurriedly buried soldier. But the rifle was a No4T and the bodyside pads were clearly visible. Clearly the sniper had got the chop and had been hurriedly buried by his advancing pals. His rifle marking his grave.

I have been adding photos of some snipers to my web site. My emphasis is on Canadian
and British
snipers in WWII and the Korean War but I do add a few others occasionally. Corrections or additional information would be welcome. For example, photos of British and Commonwealth snipers do not always identify the nationality. http://captainstevens.com/military/w...hs-of-snipers/
In each case I try to provide the original information where known such as the photographer, depository, photo file number, dates, names and places etc. This page and the other pages on my site will continue to grow.

But he Is going to do something 30tgree, he's going to lose it in the snow!
I was so puzzled why he had his action covered in snow, that I never noticed the mag!!

That's a distinctly "Teutonic"-looking rifle being aimed over the carrier.
And a very jolly-looking bunch of spectators.

I noticed that too, Baron von Rhineland's personal dangerous game rifle liberated and being used to antagonize some German
's in a second story flat perhaps?
