Not involved with actual Church Security but church is one place that I would never go without being armed.
There seems to be just as many fruitcakes in church as anywhere else.

The Arkansas state assembly recently introduced a bill that would allow concealed carry on church property IF the church allowed it. Unfortunately, the bill was defeated. Even so, some of the older folks in my deep water bible belt Baptist Church immediately started proposing that a policy be established that no firearms be allowed except by on duty LEO's. As a LEO, I've advised the deacon committee that the "on duty" wording needed to be scrapped.

Why must we always legislate common sense. I'm pretty certain if the Pastor approved someone to carry a concealed weapon no one would complain after the fact if trouble entered their Church and was stopped by that Pastor approved CHL.
Exactly how many laws has the bad guy broken before the trigger was pulled.

Church is the only place I dont carry a pistol. I never felt like I needed it there. I guess Shooter is right about the fruitcakes, That is the one place where everyone has their backs to an open door. As far as security goes, If someone were to sit in the last row or stand in the back they could stop any threat that entered and could watch over the people as they leave after the service. Everyone doesnt need to know who is armed as I am sure some will have a proublem with it.

Violating my own rule of "never reveal true intentions", I never go to church WITHOUT something under my jacket. Church is one of those places where those bent on evil presume that nobody is armed, thus making them a prime target. Then you have the collection basket, free money for the taking.
I am sure that if some of the congregation knew I was armed they would have ten sorts of hissy-fit. But what they don't know won't hurt them & might even save their life at some point in the future . . .
