A slightly amusing aside in the run up to the E.U. Vote happened at work concerning one of my much younger work mates. There had been much discussion on the matter with most people saying that they would defiantly vote Leave. This young chap proudly proclaimed that he would be voting Remain and this was the first time he had voted. This had a few of us slightly older members of staff scratching our heads as to the reasons why until some-one thought to ask him if he had registered to vote.* The young lad hadn't a clue about the need to register in order to vote as he hadn't done so before and it was too late to register so he couldn't vote after all which we all thought was highly amusing.
*In the U.K. in order to vote you have to register and there is a cut off time before an election when it becomes too late to register in order to vote in that particular election.
