Something you seldom see. The scale was to measure the adjustment of the clockwork spring, critical in the operation of the action. His description of using it on the cocking handle leaves much to the imagination. Condition "Used"...you bet! Nice kit and definitely going to sell high. I'll have to keep watching that one. Too bad he isn't selling it all together, I guess he's afraid no one will pay correctly...

As a full kit it would go for a bit I surmise, although I am not sure on export laws but it is just farm parts eh!

He is not breaking up a full tool kit he has only included the pictures for reference and if you look closely you will see they are out of a book with the text clearly visable at the top of the page in one of the photos

Got a couple of brand spanking new ones of those, still in the brown issue envelopes. They have a tiny CENTRAL marking on one end. So obviously Australian issue.

Well there you go? Just look at that, pity it would have been interesting to see how it went I reckon the item if it goes may fetch $70-100+/AU but then again on flea bay anything is possible........

Those things are still issued in the UK Armourers basic tool kit. There were two types. One for the No1,4 and 5/L1A1's for doing all the spring weights. And the other, like that - all dater 1943 and 44 - were for MG's and some bits of the L1A1. I was still using them to set up our Vickers MMGs on those bright and sunny live firing days. Nothing quite like watching the 4-ball and 1x tracer hosing down the old wartime OP on the hillside hillside 2 miles away from Netheravon FP-2
