No I have not fired the Smith carbine.
There is substantial original blue finish remaining on the barrel and that causes me not to venture there.
My father and I used to shoot the two guns shown below back in the
early 70s.
It was great fun….but I now cringe when I think of it. (As a collector.)
I am sure there was more original finish on these revolvers before we started shooting them.
I guess I feel there are some guns that are meant to be fired ….and some that are not.
I envy your experience shooting your Smith carbine and your 61 Colt rifled musket. (That model is a very handsome and interesting gun.)
NOTE:
I have had great difficulty finding an original cartridge for the Smith carbine in Canadato add to my collection.
