(M1 Garand/M14/M1A Rifles)
I shot a two-day match where the first day went great and then on the second my scores started sinking. I chased and chased and couldn't seem to pull the silly rifle onto any predictable point of impact. I thought I was loosing my mind and then all of a sudden it occurred to me that front sight might be loose. Yep! By the time I tightened it down my scores and confidence were pretty shot but at least I figured it out!

I had the reverse happen Bob at 500m shooting full bore on a very rainy day shooting a 35.6 out of a possible 35.7 when I got up from the mound the front sights had moved forward 3/4 off the front dovetail literally, go figure that !

That is how I was feeling. It wasn't a match, but I was severely disappointed in the accuracy. My son discovered the problem when he shouldered the rifle and noticed that the front sight had slid to the side and was ready to fall off the rifle completely.

Wow...do you ever wonder how it would have gone if the sight had been secure?
