I've never seen any conclusive studies on the 7.62 NATO Spanish small ring Mausers; they got new barrels when they made those right? I also can't recall if they are 93 or 95 actions; I was going to build a Mauser sporting rifle and have looked at so many different receiver variants they all ran together before I bought a Yugoicon M24/47 from Mike (mmppres) at Oaks making all my research moot. I know the Chileanicon NATO conversions fail due to gas cutting of the solder in the chamber insert whereas people suggest in these the receivers simply come apart due to the pressure. The failed Spanish small ring everyone has probably seen pictures of by now is a weird case in that I don't recall ever actually seeing the original source of those images or the story.
