Ours was the same stuff used in Vietnam in the sticks. Put that bug juice on first and it went on much easier.

Same thing here, fat sticks and later skinny. As long as they were newish or you gave them a scrape they went on OK. The bug juice also made it come off quick so I stopped that even though bathed in the high Deet stuff...I never could stand the mosquitoes...
