What this thread really boils down to is this. If something seems too good to be true then guess what? It usually is.

Easy! no one is saying anything, because that sort of performance is better than I am getting out of my purpose built 6.5 x 284 then again my rifle will group consistently 3/4 MOA from 300m - 1000m for 2 x 10 shot applications if I get my stuff together. So 2 explanations
    A) It was a bit of a jag group which happens from time to time.
    B) You have one of those rifles that managed to get assembled and finished just so like a blue printed Rem - 700.

I have added some pics of the gear I use but do not have a picture of my wifes completed rifle not the f class one anyway as my wife was raised on a dairy farm it is called the Moogun! (See custom stock just back from the painter 2 pack paint)
See pic of a group 10 shots at 700m my wife shot with her F class 308 BARNARD actioned rifle with a Kreiger match grade 30" tube there are 8 shots inside that X ring which is 150mm Dia with 2 - 6's for a 60.8 a bit lower, the very low shot was something tried earlier and we forgot to cut it but that's what our rifles shoot consistently. Load - 44.6gns AR 8208 Lap cases Fed 210 primers 155.5gn Bergers
    Also see 3 shots at a 100m with my 6.5 x 284 160gn Hornady RN 52gns AR 2217 Lap case Fed 215M HART 27" 1/8 TR then my APRS .308 at 174yds (lasered) 3 shots Load 42gns AR 2206H 168gn A Max Lap case Fed 210
I am not showing off just showing the gear I use and what that gear is capable of doing consistently as I am the loose component in the system not the gear. There are plenty of better shots out there than I, don't I know it.......

    Pics in order Moogun - 700M group 10 shots - 6.5 x 284 + 3 shots above details - APRS - 3 shots above details

    Whoa...

I don't see where Peter is referring to to you, but I assumed he was referring to the original topic of the thread about the repro No.32 scope being passed off as possibly authentic, and as he says.. If something seems too good to be true then guess what? It usually is..

I'm not sure why you're being so overly sensitive in your reaction in assuming he was commenting on your miraculous 1/2 MoA group at 600 yards with a 70 year old WWII sniper rifle.

Regardless, the thread has wondered way off the topic of the original OP's question (my fault too), so it's now closed !!!

There was some good information and I certainly learned something from it, as the pics I viewed in the first post could have fooled me to. It's great to have so many expert Enfield collectors here who help others spot the subtleties of what's correct and not.

    Regards,
    Doug

ps: That is some very nice shooting..

I trained as a military sniper and that 1/2 MoA grouping at 600 yards from your old No.4(T) is absolutely astonishing. As Cinders said that sort of performance is better than I am getting out of my purpose built 6.5 x 284. I would agree with that, as I have a personal custom built .308 sniper rifle, scribed on the barrel as Gray Ghost (click here), which just manages to achieve 1/2 MoA at 600 meters.
