stick it in the dishwasher on the pots & pans setting. comes out super clean down to bare wood, no joke. i read about it somewhere and i tried it on my garand stock, let it dry for a few days (in a cool shaded area) then put some oil on it, came out real nice. just make sure you run the dishwasher on empty a few times afterwards to wash out all the oil.
